How does liaison interpreting work ?

As the name suggests, this format involves liaising between two parties who speak two different languages.

Liaison interpreting is suitable for meetings with a small number of people (usually no more than four). It is also recommended for informal settings, such as work meetings, site visits, interviews or appointments.

To ensure a smooth flow of exchanges, the liaison interpreter must demonstrate a good knowledge of the subject being dealt with. They usually work without taking notes, memorising short passages and rendering them in the target language. This is similar to consecutive interpreting, but without the use of sound equipment.

Find the right interpreter for your event

Interpreting enables people who do not speak the same language to communicate during events or business meetings. The aim is to orally translate speeches in a quick, accurate and pricise way. This requires not only linguistic skills, but also communication skills to ensure that the ideas in a speech are perfectly conveyed from one language to another.

To meet all your needs, AB Traduction offers three interpreting services: simultaneous interpreting, consecutive interpreting and liaison interpreting.
